Jaipur is a card game for exactly two people. You play rival traders in the markets of Jaipur, collecting goods, selling them for rupee tokens and managing a herd of camels. It suits couples, siblings and friends who want a quick, sharp head-to-head game, and a full match takes about 30 minutes. An English/Hindi edition is sold in India by Yes Papa Games.
Is Jaipur right for your table?
A good pick for
- Couples or two siblings looking for a regular after-dinner game
- Travel and small tables, since it's just cards and tokens
- Rummy players who want a card game with more choices on each turn
- Homes where some players prefer Hindi, thanks to the bilingual rulebook
Skip it if
- You usually have three or more players, because Jaipur is strictly for two
- Luck bothers you: the cards that come into the market are random, and one draw can swing a round
- You want a cooperative game, since this is head-to-head and a little cutthroat
How Jaipur plays
You are each a trader hoping to become the Maharaja's favourite. Five cards sit face up in the middle as the market, and three of them are camels at the start. Each player gets five cards. Any camels you are dealt go into a herd in front of you, not into your hand.
On your turn you do just one thing. You can take one goods card from the market, or take several goods by swapping in the same number of cards from your hand or camels from your herd. You can also take every camel in the market, or sell cards. You may never hold more than seven cards, but camels don't count toward that limit.
Selling is where the tension is. You sell cards of one type at a time and take the same number of tokens for that good. Each pile of tokens starts with the highest values on top, so the first seller earns more. Diamonds, gold and silver must be sold at least two at a time. Selling three, four or five cards together also earns a bonus token.
Camels are a trade-off. A big herd lets you swap for several goods in one turn, but taking all the camels refills the market from the deck, which may hand your opponent good cards. At the end of each round, whoever has more camels gets a 5-rupee bonus token.
A round ends when three kinds of goods tokens have run out, or when the deck can no longer refill the market. The richer trader wins a Seal of Excellence, and the first player to win two seals wins the game.
Takes about 10 minutes to teach. There is very little reading during play, because the cards and tokens are about goods and numbers. The Indian edition comes with rules in both English and Hindi.
Buying Jaipur in India
There is an Indian edition: Yes Papa Games' English/Hindi version. Board Games India says it is made in China in partnership with the original publisher, to the same quality as the international version. Specialist stores price it at about ₹2,000–2,150. The international Space Cowboys edition is also listed on Amazon.in, but as an import its price and delivery time may differ.
The edition sold today is the Space Cowboys one, with art by Vincent Dutrait. The game first came out from GameWorks in 2009. In India, Yes Papa Games sells an English/Hindi version (Board Games India item SCJAI01ML8, MRP ₹2,199). It has the same components as the international edition plus Hindi rules. No Jaipur expansions were listed at the Indian stores checked.
How to make sure you get a genuine copy
Clone risk: Medium- Look for the Space Cowboys name on the box. In India, the English/Hindi edition is sold as a Yes Papa Games product.
- Jaipur is only ever for 2 players. A listing that says '2 to 4 players' is not describing the real game, and one wholesale listing on IndiaMART said exactly that.
- Check the price. Genuine copies cost ₹2,000–2,150 at Indian stores on 4 October 2026, while that wholesale listing offered 'Jaipur' at ₹270 a piece.
- Count the contents: 55 goods cards (6 diamonds, 6 gold, 6 silver, 8 cloth, 8 spice, 10 leather, 11 camels), 38 goods tokens, 18 bonus tokens, 1 camel token and 3 Seals of Excellence.
- On Amazon.in, check that the brand reads Space Cowboys. Be cautious with 'Jaipur' listings under unrelated brand names.
Jaipur is just cards and cardboard tokens, so it is easy to copy. At least one wholesale listing in India, on IndiaMART, sells 'Jaipur' for a few hundred rupees and wrongly describes it as a 2–4 player game. Buying the Yes Papa English/Hindi edition from a specialist store avoids the problem.
If Jaipur isn't quite right

Splendor
A similar collect-and-trade feel with gem cards, and it still works if a third or fourth person joins

Azul
Plays very well with two and is just as quick to learn, with tile drafting in place of trading
Also worth a look (not in our catalogue yet): Lost Cities – Another short two-player card game about building sets and deciding when to take a risk.
Questions people ask about Jaipur
Is Jaipur available in India?
Yes. Yes Papa Games distributes an English/Hindi edition through Indian stores such as Board Games India, which had it at ₹2,000 on 4 October 2026, and Bored Game Company. The international Space Cowboys edition is also listed on Amazon.in.
Can more than 2 people play Jaipur?
No. Jaipur is designed strictly for two players, so a listing that says 2–4 players is not describing the real game. For three or four players, Splendor has a similar trading feel.
Is there a Hindi version of Jaipur?
Yes. The Indian edition from Yes Papa Games has rules in both English and Hindi. There is very little reading during play itself, so it works for players who prefer Hindi.
What age is Jaipur suitable for?
The publisher, Space Cowboys, says 10 and up. Children need to add small numbers and plan a move ahead, so it helps if an adult walks them through the first round.

Prototype notes for review (won't appear on the live site)
- Amazon match: exact link, high confidence. Listing title seen: "Space Cowboys Jaipur Card Game English/Hindi Second Edition : Amazon.in: Toys & Games".
- How it was found: WebSearch query 'site:amazon.in Jaipur card game Space Cowboys' put https://www.amazon.in/Space-Cowboys-Jaipur-English-Hindi/dp/B09SBKR5W3 first. It also appeared for 'Jaipur board game Space Cowboys amazon.in'. Its English/Hindi wording matches the Indian edition that stores sell. The international edition is also on Amazon.in as https://www.amazon.in/Space-Cowboys-Jaipur-Board-Game/dp/B07SRMXRZB ('Space Cowboys Jaipur Board Game'), the same ASIN used on Amazon's UK, Australia and UAE sites. That one is an import.
- Seller and current price on Amazon.in listings B09SBKR5W3 (English/Hindi) and B07SRMXRZB (international). Amazon pages were not opened, per policy.
- Age: Space Cowboys lists 10+, Wikipedia (original 2009 edition) says 12+, and Board Games India lists 14+ for the Yes Papa edition. age_min uses the publisher's 10.
- The release year of the current Space Cowboys edition was not confirmed from a primary source.
- Whether Yes Papa Games is the exclusive or officially appointed Indian distributor. Store pages say the edition is 'manufactured in partnership with Original publisher', but no publisher statement was found.
- Boardway's Jaipur page doesn't say whether its copy is the English/Hindi or the international edition.
- Whether the cards carry any printed words was not checked against a physical copy. The language rating assumes picture-and-number cards.
- Shuffle Games (shufflegames.co.in) seems to list the English/Hindi edition, but the page couldn't be read reliably, so it is left out.
- The IndiaMART seller (Firstseen Solutions, Gurugram) was not confirmed to be selling an unlicensed copy. The '2 to 4 players' description and ₹270 price are what the listing showed.
