How we research
boardgames.in exists to make one thing easier: choosing a board game that suits the people you play with, and buying a genuine copy of it in India. Here's how each page is put together.
Where our facts come from
Player counts, play times, ages, designers and publishers come from the publisher's own pages and rulebooks, from Indian distributors, and from the listings of Indian stores. Every game page lists its sources at the bottom.
Every description, explanation and recommendation is written for boardgames.in. When we're not sure about something, we say so on the page.
Finding the right listing
Amazon.in and other marketplaces often have several listings with the same game name, and some are copies. We match the official listing by publisher, edition and item code, and label it clearly as an Indian edition or an import. When we can't confirm a single genuine listing, we say so and link to a search instead of guessing.
Checking for clones
Unofficial copies of popular games are common in India. For each game we look at what the genuine box carries (publisher name, Indian importer or maker, item codes), the price range of genuine copies at Indian stores, and the patterns copy listings share, such as misspelled names, unrelated brand names and prices far below the real range.
Prices
The prices on each page are the ones we saw on Indian store pages on the date shown. Prices and stock change often, so always check the store's page before you buy. Amazon prices aren't shown yet; the button takes you to the listing so you can see today's price and seller.
How the site makes money
Some links to Amazon.in and other stores are affiliate links: if you buy, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Commission never decides which games we recommend, and we link to stores that pay us nothing when they're the better place to buy.
