Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is a loud slapping card game for 2 to 8 players: you flip a card while saying the next word in the chant, and when the word matches the picture, everyone slaps the pile. It suits families with children aged 8 and up, cousins' get-togethers and any group that wants a ten-minute game full of shouting and laughing. None of the Indian stores we track had it on 5 October 2026; the genuine Blue Orange edition is sold on Amazon.in, and Gamebae, which says it is Blue Orange's licensee in India, sold it for ₹799 on its own site.

Is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza right for your table?

A good pick for

  • Big, noisy family get-togethers, with up to 8 players in one game
  • Mixed ages, since quick hands and a sharp ear matter more than strategy
  • Filling ten minutes before dinner, or warming up a party before a longer game
  • Packing for a trip: it is one small deck of 64 cards

Skip it if

  • Your group dislikes loud games or people slapping hands on the table
  • You want planning or strategy; this is pure reflexes and concentration
  • You play mostly with one other person; it works with 2 but gets much better with 4 or more

How Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza plays

The 64 cards are dealt out face down, and each player keeps a pile in front of them without looking at it. Most cards show one of five pictures: a taco, a cat, a goat, a piece of cheese or a pizza.

Going round the table, each player flips the top card of their pile onto a shared pile in the middle and says the next word of the chant out loud: Taco, then Cat, then Goat, then Cheese, then Pizza, and back to Taco. The word you say has nothing to do with the card you flip, which is exactly what makes it hard.

When the word someone says matches the picture on the card they just played, everyone races to slap the middle pile. The last person to slap picks up the whole pile and adds it to their own. Slapping when there is no match also costs you the pile, and so does stumbling over your word.

Three special cards (the gorilla, the groundhog and the narwhal) each need an action before you slap. For the gorilla you beat your chest, for the groundhog you knock on the table with both hands, and for the narwhal you raise your hands above your head to make a horn. The last person to do the action and slap takes the pile.

Once your pile is empty, you are not done yet. You keep saying your word on your turn, and you win only when you are the first to slap correctly on the next match or special card. That last stretch is where most of the shouting happens.

Takes about 2 minutes to teach. The cards have pictures and no text to read. The catch is the chant: players say Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza in that order as they flip cards, so everyone needs to know those five English words. A group can agree to use Hindi or Tamil words instead, as long as everyone uses the same five in the same order. The rules leaflet is the only thing that needs reading.

Buying Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza in India

None of the specialist stores we track had the base game on 5 October 2026: Toycra, Crossword, Hamleys, Tabletop Universe and Bored Game Company had no listing, and Board Games India could not be read. The practical choices are the Amazon.in listing or Gamebae's own site (₹799). Both are the Blue Orange edition. US Dolphin Hat Games imports cost more than twice as much for the same game.

In India the base game comes in Blue Orange's 64-card pack. Gamebae, which says it is Blue Orange's licensee in India, sold it for ₹799 (MRP ₹999, barcode 3664824002069) on 5 October 2026, and the Indian Taco Cat site it runs, tacocatgoatcheesepizza.in, links to Amazon.in. Gamebae also sells two standalone follow-ups: Taco Back Goat Cheese Pizza, which it labels the Flipside version (₹699), and Taco Hat Cake Gift Pizza (₹599). Moose Match Mayhem, another spin-off, is also sold on Amazon.in under Blue Orange. US versions from Dolphin Hat Games, such as On The Flip Side, the Halloween edition and Santa Cookie Elf Candy Snowman, reach Amazon.in only as imported copies at several times the store price. Gameistry's Taco Cat page now carries the name Taco Back Goat Cheese Pizza, at ₹849 and out of stock.

How to make sure you get a genuine copy

Clone risk: High
  • Check the spelling. Listings called 'Tako Kat Gaot Cheese Pizza', 'Taaco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza', 'Premium Tako Cat' or just 'Cat Goat Cheese Pizza' are not the official game.
  • Check the brand. The genuine Indian copy carries the Blue Orange logo, and US imports carry Dolphin Hat Games or Taco Cat Games. Listings that name an unrelated brand, or no brand at all, are not from either publisher.
  • Check the price. The genuine game cost ₹799 at Gamebae on 5 October 2026, against an MRP of ₹999. Check the brand (Blue Orange) and the seller; there are many much cheaper look-alikes on Amazon.in.
  • Count the cards. There should be 64, including the gorilla, groundhog and narwhal special cards.
  • Be wary of cheap 'Halloween' or 'On The Flip Side' packs from unknown brands at ₹299–489. The genuine versions of those are US imports costing about ₹1,800 or more. Blue Orange's own Indian spin-offs (Taco Back, Taco Hat Cake Gift Pizza, Moose Match Mayhem) are real games, sold at ₹599–749.

On Amazon.in on 5 October 2026, a search for the game returned more than 20 listings from unfamiliar brands. Several had misspelled names, and some borrowed the names of Blue Orange spin-offs or added adult 'naughty' themes.

Questions people ask about Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

Where can I buy the original Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza in India?

Gamebae, which says it is Blue Orange Games' official licensee in India, sold it for ₹799 on its own site on 5 October 2026. The genuine Blue Orange edition is also sold on Amazon.in (B088HRRB59). None of the specialist board game stores we track had it in stock that day.

What age is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza for?

Blue Orange's rulebook says 8 and up, while Indian listings say 7 and up. Children need to keep track of the five-word chant and react quickly, which most 7- and 8-year-olds can do. Adults usually find it just as hard, because the chant trips up everyone.

Can two people play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza?

Yes, the box says 2 to 8 players. With two, the game is a quick race between you, but most of the fun comes from a crowded table where several hands slap at once. It is best at 4 or more.

What is the difference between Taco Cat, Taco Back and Taco Hat Cake Gift Pizza?

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is the original game. Taco Back Goat Cheese Pizza, which Gamebae sells as the Flipside version, and Taco Hat Cake Gift Pizza are separate standalone games from Blue Orange built on the same idea with new twists. Each one can be played on its own, so start with the original if you are new to the series.

  • Amazon match: exact link, high confidence. Listing title seen: "Blue Orange Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza The Party Card Game for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families 10-15 Min, Age 7+, 2-8 Players".
  • How it was found: COMPOSIO_SEARCH_AMAZON on amazon.in, 5 October 2026, queries 'Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza card game', 'Blue Orange Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Toycra' and 'Blue Orange Games India Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza party card game families players'. B088HRRB59 came first in each, at ₹729 (MRP ₹999), rated 4.7 from about 4,300 ratings, '500+ bought in past month' and marked Amazon's Choice. Every other base-game listing had fewer than 20 ratings or was an import priced at ₹1,800 or more.
  • Seller and edition on Amazon.in listing B088HRRB59. Amazon pages were not opened, per policy. Gamebae's official Indian site links to a different ASIN, B0F5YQN5NM, which did not appear in any search result.
  • Who distributes Blue Orange in India. Our brief describes Toycra as Blue Orange's exclusive Indian distributor, but Gamebae calls itself Blue Orange's official distributor and licensee for the Indian subcontinent. Toycra still lists other Blue Orange games but had no Taco Cat listing on 5 October 2026.
  • Country of manufacture of the copies sold in India. Gamebae's barcode, 3664824002069, uses Blue Orange's French prefix, but no country of origin was seen, so made_in_india is set to false without confirmation.
  • An earlier Indian edition by Bored Game Company. Flipkart, IndiaMART and Board Games India have listings for a Bored Game Company 'Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza' (Board Games India showed ₹599 in search snippets), but Bored Game Company's current site has no Taco Cat page, so india_edition is set to false.
  • Age: Blue Orange's rulebook header says 8+, while Gamebae and Amazon.in listings say 7+. age_min uses the rulebook's 8.
  • Gameistry's page at the Taco Cat URL is now titled 'Taco Back Goat Cheese Pizza' (₹849, out of stock), but its description is for the original game. It is left out of stores because the edition is unclear.
  • The product image is Blue Orange's European 3D box image. It was not visually checked, and it was not confirmed to match the exact pack Gamebae ships.
